Excellent home theater at a good price.

Reviewer: Neil Battelle,
This home theater system is what convinced me to finally make the jump to Blu-ray. I bought it from Amazon at 51% off its $1000 MSRP. I added Amazon Prime and had it in my home in two days. Set up was simple, but with seven speakers plus a subwoofer, there's a lot of wire running around my family room.
The picture quality of the Blu-ray discs is stunning, and a regular DVD gets upconverted to 1080p, so all my old stuff looks much better than ever, too. The sound is spectacular, too. My Blu-ray copy of Men in Black had the walls and floor literally shaking with rocket engines and explosions. Everything I've played, be it Blu-ray or regular DVD, has been terrific, both picture and sound.
If you're considering making the move to Blu-ray, don't hesitate to give this system serious consideration.
We love it!

Having studied several home theater systems "in a box", we settled on this one to join our Samsung 50" plasma. It's lived up to its positive reviews, creates an awesome theater experience and is an excellent value. A couple caveats. Set up as suggested--especially keeping the front right and left speakers in line with the center channel. We initially didn't, and the slight delay between the fronts and center yielded an easily discernible out-of-synch sound effect. Also resist the temptation to turn up the subwoofer too loudly. When you get it right you'll have the deep bass you need and you won't be able to identify the location of the sub. If you have a Samsung TV you can use the Blu-ray remote for the TV. Kick back and enjoy!
Top notch home theater

This is the best blu-ray/home sound system on the market for the price. It combines the bd player and the 7.1 speaker sound system. This combination is difficult and costly to find. I had some problems getting it set up but once up and running it is very impressive. The problems I encountered were: 1) I needed to add longer speaker wires for the rear speakers. 2) One of the 2 blu-ray movies I rented to test the system needed a system upgrade from Samsung websight before it would play. I needed to download a compressed file, burn a cd then load it into the bd player. This took quite a while chasing around on line for procedures. Now everything works great with one exception. The Dish network DVR sound is fed via D.IN 1. When I do a replay or skip fwd on HD recorded stations, the sound is delayed for 3 sec before restarting. This requires a longer replay in order to prevent missing the desired audio. Works normally with non HD stations. My previous sound system did not have this problem.
Piece of work

1) Front speaker wires too short.
2) No equalizer function (Not good if you have certain hearing losses).
3) No on-screen setup menus for "SFE", "NEO:6", or "Dolby Pro Logic".
4) Noisy cooling fan (sounds like a hair dryer).
5) Sub woofer does not power off with system (energy thief).
6) Balance & distance setup do not work with music playing.
7) Very sluggish to commands (makes you think it is broken).

Other than the above mentioned faults, the system sounds and performs well.
Great System But!

It was a great system when I bought it. I loved the great sound it put out. But all of a sudden it stoped reading all DVD's It would tell me " No Disc". Now I did call Samsung and customer service at Sunsung is Number 1. But after it was sent back to them and fixed a couple months later it happened again it stop reading all DVD. I did give this 5 stars for sound. But it has problems.
